Overview

Normal aging changes are defined as the presence of small drusen or drupelets (less than 63µm) with no pigmentary changes. There should be no characteristics of early, intermediate or late AMD.

OCT imaging may show discrete elevation or irregularities of the RPE layer or may not show any discernible change.

Fundus autofluorescence imaging may appear normal or display punctate spots of hyper- or hypo-autofluorescence.
